TRI-TECH DESIGN specializes the design of environmentally sensitive homes and buildings. Principal Russell K. Johnson, AIA has been designing projects that embody the principles of green architecture - quality materials, high efficiency, low energy consumption, use of recycled materials, and long life. All of these combine to provide lower long term costs, and promote the goal of sustainable design and living. Russell Johnson has been a leader in the use of insulating concrete block walls, which offer high thermal efficiency with recycled content, fire, mold and insect resistance, and longevity. He has pioneered the use of steel in combination with insulating concrete to reduce wood consumption. |

Sustainable Living based on reducing the:
· Energy to produce building materials · Energy to transport building materials · Energy to construct the material · Energy to heat, cool and operate the building · Energy to maintain the building
Where:
· Energy = human labor plus the fossil fuel consumed
And reducing the impact on earth environment in terms of:
· Physical area disrupted · Quantity of soil/earth disruption · Biodiversity of species · Fossil fuel consumption · CO2 released into the atmosphere · Pollutants released into the environment
